    Das neue Album des serbischen Kontrabassisten Nenad Vasilic, der bekannt ist für seine Verbindung von Jazz und Balkanmusik, heißt „Wet Paint“. Nasse Farbe - das steht symbolisch für einen Neuanfang. Nenad Vasilic wagt in Trio-Besetzung eine neue Herangehensweise an seine Musik: Ungerade Rhythmen sind Basis für einige seiner Stücke, ein neues Klangbild prägt das Album durch veränderte Instrumentenmischung und zwei Cover-Versionen bringen neue Impulse in das bisherige Repertoire des Künstlers. Nenad Vasilic legte in diesem Album großen Wert darauf, neue Instrumentenklänge zu erschaffen. Ziel war es, einen neuen, originellen Klang zwischen Vintage und Moderne zu erzeugen. Die Klangexperimente zogen einen Wandel im Klangbild nach sich. Der ehemals stark durch Saxophon geprägten Klang seiner früheren Alben weicht nun einem, durch Tasten-, Rhythmus und Bass geprägten Klang. Vintage und Moderne, Jugend und Alter – Nenad Vasilic bringt Gegensätze zu einem harmonischen Ganzen zusammen und präsentiert ein musikalisch und klanglich sehr gelungenes Werk.
